Pixel Rugs is an iconic series from Travess Smalley showcasing his unique use of Photoshop scripts to create emergent generative works gleaming with vibrant palettes and intricate patterns. The series consists of hundreds of digital tapestries woven through procedural code that explores pixel art, texture studies and anti-aliasing. Smalley has conceived the project through multiple mediums including plotter drawings, modded game assets in Minecraft, NFTs, a playable GameBoy cartridge containing an interactive slideshow essay and handwoven rugs.
