Casey Reas - CENTURY-XXX-METARILEY #19

CENTURY-XXX-METARILEY #19

Le Random Logo

CENTURY-XXX-META is a large fx(hash) project by Casey Reas consisting of six individual 1,000 edition series paying homage to some of the most influential pioneering figures of computer and generative art. Each series draws aesthetic inspirations from the chosen pioneers iconic work. CENTURY-XXX-METARILEY pays homage to pioneering female artist, Bridget Riley, while following her often illusionary and Op Art style. Aesthetically, the piece is reminiscent of Riley’s 1964 painting, Pause. CENTURY-XXX-METARILEY consists of an array of circles translating from one end of the screen to the other, creating a disorienting visual effect that seems to squeeze the circles as they’re pushed along the canvas.
