In the beginning was Grid

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Grid.

For many years i've been often organizing my work into a grid format by combining output samples generated by AI models into a grid-collage programmatically; it started as a way to alleviate the problem of low resolution, and evolved into sort of artistic style. Here grid appears as a metaphor for the learning process of neural nets, and specifically, the visual representation of their lower layers. Just as the neurons in these layers are responsible for detecting simple features in the input data, such as edges, lines and color blobs, the image can be seen as a snapshot of the basic shapes and patterns upon which the more complex patterns and shapes, perhaps like those peaking at the diagonal corners of the picture, which eventually might turn into a certain AI etching. The title (Word) adds an additional, verbal dimension to the artwork.
