Biography
Daniel Calderon Arenas is a Houston-based educator and generative artist. Since 2017, his practice has focused on generative art that explores themes of language, meaning and the natural world. Embracing the role of chance and randomness inherent in computational processes, Calderon expands his creative vision through algorithmic methods. Through this lens, he reinterprets natural phenomena, such as the branching of trees or the form of a rock. His artwork, driven by curiosity and a passion for exploration, reflects his evolving interests and showcases a thoughtful use of color. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Calderon has taught courses on coding and digital processes at the K. G. McGovern College of the Arts.
