
James Paterson
James Paterson is a Montreal-based creative director, animator and technologist with a passion for blending drawing, animation and code. As the founder of Presstube in 1999, Paterson has been creating enchanting digital products and experiences through code-based works and systems. He began sharing his work online in the late 1990s, primarily through intricate animations built with Flash ActionScript.
Paterson’s creative projects have spanned brands such as Google, Björk, Unity, Mick Jagger, FiftyThree, Sony, Burton, Nike and Marshmallow Laser Feast. He has been an active speaker at renowned creative conferences including OFFF, Eyeo, Reasons and FITC. His artwork has been exhibited in esteemed galleries and museums worldwide, including Centre Pompidou, London Design Museum and bitforms.
