Yoshi Sodeoka is a Japanese artist based in New York known for his innovative multimedia exploration of digital and physical art. Fueled by a deep passion for music, his neo-psychedelic style reflects his background and love for genres such as noise, punk and metal. After moving from Yokohama to New York in the 1990s to study at Pratt Institute, Sodeoka became a prominent figure in the city’s art scene.
His artistic practice blends digital video feedback, footage sampling, online imagery and collaborative audio soundscapes to create immersive sensory experiences. Sodeoka’s creative journey spans fine art, music collaborations with acts like Metallica and Tame Impala, editorial illustration for publications including The New York Times, Wired and The Atlantic, and partnerships with brands such as Adidas and Nike.
Sodeoka’s work has been exhibited internationally at venues such as the Centre Pompidou, Tate Britain, the Museum of Modern Art and others. His work is part of the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
